How to order
All slings are fabricated to customer specifications. Therefore, your purchase order should contain the following specific details.

  1. Sling model number
  2. Sling length as indicated on schematics alongside tables
  3. Component rope diameter
  4. Eye treatments
  5. Any special fittings, such as sliding choker hooks
  6. 6. Any other special requirements
Bridles will be fabricated with oblong alloy steel links unless otherwise specified

To minimize the chance for error in transmitting orders, use the model numbers given for each sling type, followed by the letter codes in the illustrations for indicating eye or end treatments.
For example, a type 110-ST-TH-HT choker would be a single-part, hand-spliced sling with a slip-through thimble (ST) in one eye, a sliding hook (TH) and a heavy-duty thimble (HT) in the other eye.
Standard sling eye designations are as indicated on the drawings at left for both mechanically and hand spliced slings. Other combinations or other types of hooks or fittings can be specified.
The sling body length is the length of wire rope between splices, sleeves, or fittings.
The standard minimum body length for multi-part slings between splices is equal to forty times the component rope diameter.
Metal tags are available on request.
Eye treatments
Sling eyes may be protected by thimbles, rubberized coating, wire serving, or other special treatments which you may specify. Rubberized coating is standard where indicated on schematics accompanying tables for certain multi-part slings.
Otherwise, rubberized coating must be specified as an extra.
If serving is desired on splices of single-part, hand-spliced slings larger than 1-1/2” rope diameter, it must be specified and is an extra.
Four types of thimbles are offered:
Heavy-duty thimbles (HT) are placed in eyes when formed. Slip-thru (ST) thimbles, which may pass through one another, are placed in eyes during forming, and held in place by bend-down tabs. Slip-on thimbles are of two types: crescent (CT) and formed (OT). Both are inserted after eyes are formed. Crescent type thimbles (CT) are held in place by bend-down tabs.
