began in May of 1979 with eight employees and a 500 square-foot rented space on Lexington Boulevard in Corpus Christi, TX. With management and employees having many years experience in supplying wire rope to industrial and oil & gas markets. Many of Kennedy Wire Rope's first employees came from E.L. Bearden Company and were an important part of that company’s good reputation.

By 1981 Kennedy Wire Rope had outgrown the small space, and purchased an 18,000 square-foot building on five acres on Flato Road (present location). The number of employees quickly increased, and the larger location allowed for some much-needed equipment upgrades. Kennedy Wire Rope was now able to handle larger jobs and began product testing in-house. Another spooling truck was added allowing for on-location work. Eventually an addition was added to the building's warehouse, expanding it to 24,000 square feet.

By 1997, space was once again a problem, and plans were made to purchase the adjoining five-acre lot. A second 24,000 square foot building was erected, allowing for expansion of the testing, synthetic sling and chain sling departments, plus splicing of large diameter fiber marine ropes.

In February 1998, a second location was opened in San Antonio to better serve customers in the central Texas area. The San Antonio store, located in the metroplex of SA, created new positions, and market expansion.

As the markets and production increased further growth to our facilities were necessary with a new 12,000 square foot coiling and reeling facility as well as expanded testing / inspection department including new greater capacity equipment.

2008 brought a new 25,000 square foot location to our Central Texas customers located between I10 and Hwy 35 just off of WW White Rd. Allowing for upgrades to equipment and spooling truck wth plenty of room for addition of stock.
