No matter the, industry safety should always top priority. This principal takes on new meaning when a job requires scaling the outside of an oilrig, building, or construction site hundreds of feet in the air. When conditions are so extreme, having the right equipment is key to ensuring the well-being of all those involved. It all starts with having the right kind of life-line.
At Kennedy Wire Rope & Sling Company Inc., we distribute high-quality, self-retracting lifeline products that keep workers safe while on the job. Not all self-retracting lifelines are the same; they utilize different designs, and technology. When searching for a lifeline that’s suitable to their needs, a company needs to understand the differences between model types, so they can make an informed decision.
Description
As opposed to a traditional lifeline, a self-retracting lifeline extends and retracts line automatically, as a worker moves. This provides constant resistance, in addition to eliminating slack, making for an overall safer lifeline.
Connector Types
Lifelines can come with different connector types. The type of material that the connector is made out of generally determines its strength. Usually, connectors can come in one of two materials: steel, and aluminum. Additionally, hooks are generally designed in either snap or rebar style, and can come in double-locking, triple-locking, and separator styles.
At Kennedy Wire Rope & Sling Company, we have been providing high-quality retractable lifelines to its customers for over 30 years.
